भक्षयेच्छास्त्रदृष्टानि पर्वस्वपि विवर्जयेत्‌ । शास्त्रोंमें जिन काष्ठोंका दाँतन निषिद्ध माना गया है

Transliteration

bhakṣayecchāstradṛṣṭāni parvasv api vivarjayet |

Translation

Bhishma sprach: Zum Reinigen der Zähne soll man nur die von den Schriften gebilligten Hölzer verwenden und die von ihnen verbotenen meiden. Mehr noch: An Fest- und Observanztagen (Parva-Tagen) soll man selbst vom sonst erlaubten Zahnholz abstehen und so Enthaltsamkeit im Sinne des Dharma üben.
