King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
संचिन्त्यैवं तदा राजा विचार्य च पुन: पुनः । अमोघत्वं च विज्ञाय रेतसो राजसत्तम:,उन्होंने विचार किया, “मेरा यह स्खलित वीर्य व्यर्थ न हो, साथ ही मेरी पत्नी गिरिकाका ऋतुकाल भी व्यर्थ न जाय” इस प्रकार बारम्बार विचारकर राजाओंमें श्रेष्ठ वसुने उस वीर्यको अमोघ बनानेका ही निश्चय किया
sañcintyāivaṃ tadā rājā vicārya ca punaḥ punaḥ | amoghatvaṃ ca vijñāya retaso rājasattamaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: So sann der König nach und erwog es immer wieder. Da er erkannte, dass der gefallene Same nicht notwendig vergeblich sein müsse, fasste der Beste der Könige den Entschluss, ihn wirksam zu machen — damit weder seine ausgesandte Kraft noch die fruchtbare Zeit der Königin Girikā verloren gehe.
