Aṃśāvataraṇa-kathana (Catalog of Divine/Asuric Portions in Human Births) — Chapter 61
मृते पितरि ते वीरा वनादेत्य स्वमन्दिरम् । नचिरादेव विद्वांसो वेदे धनुषि चाभवन्,अपने पिता महाराज पाण्डुके स्वर्गवासी हो जानेपर वे वीर पाण्डव वनसे अपने राजभवनमें आकर रहने लगे। वहाँ थोड़े ही दिनोंमें वे वेद तथा धरनुर्वेदके पूरे पण्डित हो गये
mṛte pitari te vīrā vanād etya svamandiram | nacirād eva vidvāṁso vede dhanuṣi cābhavan ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Nachdem ihr Vater gestorben war, kehrten jene heldenhaften Söhne aus dem Wald in ihre eigene Wohnstatt zurück. Und schon bald wurden sie gelehrt—kundig in den Veden und geübt in der Wissenschaft des Bogens (Dhanurveda).“
