Jaratkāru’s Conditional Marriage Vow and Vāsuki’s Offer (जरत्कारु-विवाह-नियमः)

इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत आदिपव॑के अन्तर्गत आस्तीकपर्वनें परीक्षितू-शापविषयक इकतालीसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ,काश्यप उवाच अहं तं नृपतिं गत्वा त्वया दष्टमपज्वरम्‌ | करिष्यामीति मे बुद्धिर्विद्यावलसमन्विता काश्यपने कहा--मैं तुम्हारे डँैँसे हुए राजाको वहाँ जाकर विषसे रहित कर दूँगा। यह विद्याबलसे सम्पन्न मेरी बुद्धिका निश्चय है

kāśyapa uvāca | ahaṃ taṃ nṛpatiṃ gatvā tvayā daṣṭam apajvaram | kariṣyāmīti me buddhir vidyābalasamanvitā ||

Kāśyapa sprach: „Ich werde zu jenem König gehen und, obgleich er von dir gebissen wurde, ihn vom Gift und von seinem brennenden Leiden befreien. Das ist mein Entschluss — mein Verstand ist durch die Kraft meines Wissens gestärkt.“
