Even in strained circumstances, a dharmic response favors measured communication and compassion: the ascetic (Śamīka) acts responsibly by instructing and sending a messenger rather than escalating conflict, modeling restraint and ethical duty.
The narrator (Sauti) reports that the great ascetic Śamīka, after giving specific instructions, dispatches his disciple to King Parīkṣit—setting up the next development in the Parīkṣit–Śamīka episode.
