तद् बुद्ध्वा भृशसंतप्तो देवराज: शतक्रतुः । जगाम शरण तत्र कश्यपं संशितव्रतम्,उनका यह संकल्प सुनकर सौ यज्ञोंका अनुष्ठान पूर्ण करनेवाले देवराज इन्द्रको बड़ा संताप हुआ और वे कठोर व्रतका पालन करनेवाले कश्यपजीकी शरणमें गये
tad buddhvā bhṛśa-saṃtapto devarājaḥ śatakratuḥ | jagāma śaraṇaṃ tatra kaśyapaṃ saṃśita-vratam ||
Als Indra—der König der Götter, berühmt als Śatakratu, der Vollbringer von hundert Opfern—von diesem Entschluss hörte, geriet er in tiefe Bedrängnis. Um Zuflucht und Abhilfe zu finden, begab er sich dorthin zu dem Weisen Kaśyapa, der in strengen Gelübden standhaft war.
