Nāga-prādhānya-nāma-kathana

इन्द्राच्छतगुण: शौर्ये वीर्ये चैव मनोजव: । तपसो न: फलेनाद्य दारुण: सम्भवत्विति,'शौर्य और वीर्यमें इन्द्रसे वह सौगुना बढ़कर हो। उसका वेग मनके समान तीव्र हो। हमारी तपस्याके फलसे अब ऐसा ही वीर प्रकट हो जो इन्द्रके लिये भयंकर हो”

śaunaka uvāca |

indrāc chataguṇaḥ śaurye vīrye caiva manojavaḥ |

tapaso naḥ phalenādya dāruṇaḥ sambhavattv iti ||

Śaunaka sprach: „Möge er Indra an Tapferkeit und Heldenkraft hundertfach übertreffen; möge seine Schnelligkeit der des Geistes gleichen. Durch die Frucht unserer Askese möge heute ein solcher Krieger geboren werden—eine schreckliche Bedrohung selbst für Indra.“
