Garuḍa’s Inquiry on Permissible Prey and Vinatā’s Counsel (ब्राह्मणावध्यता–उपदेशः)
सूर्यस्तेजोभिरत्युग्रैलोकान् दग्धुमना यदा । जब सूर्यने अपने भयंकर तेजके द्वारा सम्पूर्ण लोकोंको दग्ध करनेका विचार किया, उस समय गरुडजी महान् तेजस्वी अरुणको पुनः पूर्व दिशामें लाकर सूर्यके समीप रख आये
sūryas tejobhir atyugrair lokān dagdhumanā yadā | tadā garuḍo mahātejasvī aruṇaṃ punaḥ pūrvadiśaṃ nītvā sūryasya samīpe nyadhāt |
Yuparaṇa sprach: Als die Sonne mit ihren überaus grimmigen Strahlen den Entschluss fasste, die Welten zu versengen, brachte Garuḍa—von großem Glanz durchstrahlt—Aruṇa abermals in die östliche Himmelsrichtung zurück und stellte ihn dicht an die Seite der Sonne. Die Begebenheit zeigt, wie ein rechtzeitiges, dharmagemäßes Eingreifen zerstörerische Macht zügeln und das kosmische Gleichgewicht wiederherstellen kann.
