मन्दपाल उवाच किमर्थमावृता लोका ममैते तपसार्जिता: । कि मया न कृतं तत्र यस्यैतत् कर्मण: फलम्,मन्दपाल बोले--देवताओ! मेरी तपस्याद्वारा प्राप्त हुए ये लोक बंद क्यों हैं? (उपभोगके साधनोंसे शून्य क्यों हैं?) मैंने वहाँ कौन-सा सत्कर्म नहीं किया है, जिसका फल मुझे इस रूपमें मिला है
Translation
Mandapāla sprach: „O ihr Götter! Warum sind mir diese Welten, die ich durch Askese errungen habe, verhüllt und verschlossen? Welche verdienstvolle Tat habe ich dort unterlassen, dass mir die Frucht meines Karmas in dieser Gestalt zuteilwird?“
