Śārṅgakānāṃ Avināśaḥ (Why the Śārṅga Birds Were Spared) | शार्ङ्गकानामविनाशः

आगमगमे च प्रयोगे च चक्रे तुल्यमिवात्मना । तुतोष पुत्र सौभद्रं प्रेक्षमाणो धनंजय:,धनंजयने अभिमन्युको (अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंक) आगम और प्रयोगमें अपने समान बना दिया था। वे सुभद्राकुमारको देखकर बहुत संतुष्ट रहते थे

āgamāgame ca prayoge ca cakre tulyam ivātmanā | tutoṣa putra-saubhadraṁ prekṣamāṇo dhanañjayaḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Sowohl im Studium der Āgamas als auch in der praktischen Anwendung bildete Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) Subhadrās Sohn so gründlich aus, dass er gleichsam Arjuna selbst ebenbürtig wurde. Wenn Arjuna den Knaben Abhimanyu betrachtete, blieb er tief zufrieden — ein Bild erfüllter Lehrerpflicht und väterlicher Freude über einen würdigen Erben von Können und Verantwortung.
