Varuṇa’s Bestowal of the Gāṇḍīva and the Arming of Kṛṣṇa–Arjuna
Khāṇḍava Prelude
इन्द्रप्रस्थनिवासं मे त्वं तत्रागत्य रंस्पसि । कुन्तीं युधिष्ठिरं भीम॑ भ्रातरौ मे कनीयसौ,“फिर यथासमय हमारे निवासस्थान इन्द्रप्रस्थमें आकर तुम बड़े सुखसे रहोगी। वहाँ आनेपर माता कुन्ती, युधिष्ठिर, भीमसेन, मेरे छोटे भाई नकुल-सहदेव तथा अन्य बन्धु- बान्धवोंको देखनेका तुम्हें अवसर मिलेगा। अनिन्दिते! इन्द्रप्रस्थमें मेरे समस्त बन्धु- बान्धवोंसे मिलकर तुम बहुत प्रसन्न होओगी
indraprasthanivāsaṃ me tvaṃ tatrāgatya raṃsyasi | kuntīṃ yudhiṣṭhiraṃ bhīmaṃ bhrātarau me kanīyasau ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Du wirst zu meiner Wohnstatt in Indraprastha kommen und dort in Glück leben. Wenn du eintriffst, wirst du Gelegenheit haben, Mutter Kuntī, Yudhiṣṭhira, Bhīmasena und auch meine beiden jüngeren Brüder zu sehen.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Well-being is presented as arising from dharmic belonging—honoring elders, meeting one’s kin, and living within a supportive family network. Happiness (raṃsyasi) is linked to right relationships and social propriety, not isolated self-interest.
The speaker invites the addressed person to come to Indraprastha and assures a joyful stay, emphasizing that there she will meet Kuntī, Yudhiṣṭhira, Bhīma, and the speaker’s two younger brothers (understood as Nakula and Sahadeva), along with other relatives.
