अनुप्रवेशे राज्ञस्तु वनवासो भवेन्मम । सर्वमन्यत् परिद्वतं धर्षणात् तु महीपते:,“राजाकी उपस्थितिमें घरके भीतर प्रवेश करनेपर मुझको वनमें निवास करना होगा। इसमें महाराजके तिरस्कारके सिवा और सारी बातें तुच्छ होनेके कारण उपेक्षणीय हैं
anupraveśe rājñas tu vanavāso bhaven mama | sarvam anyat paridvataṁ dharṣaṇāt tu mahīpateḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Wenn ich in die Gegenwart des Königs (im Haus) eintrete, wird die Verbannung in den Wald mein Los sein. Abgesehen von der Kränkung des Herrschers ist alles andere geringfügig und daher zu übergehen.“
