तयोस्तप:प्रभावेण दीर्घकालं प्रतापित: । धूम॑ प्रमुमुचे विन्ध्यस्तदद्भुतमिवाभवत्,उन दैत्योंकी तपस्याके प्रभावसे दीर्घकालतक संतप्त होनेके कारण विन्ध्य पर्वत धुआँ छोड़ने लगा, यह एक अद्भुत-सी बात हुई
tayos tapaḥ-prabhāveṇa dīrgha-kālaṁ pratāpitaḥ | dhūmaṁ pramumuce vindhyas tad adbhutam ivābhavat |
Nārada sprach: Von der Kraft der Askese jener beiden Daityas lange Zeit versengt, begann das Vindhya-Gebirge Rauch auszustoßen; es schien ein wunderbares und unheilvolles Zeichen.
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights the immense potency of tapas: sustained austerity can generate tangible effects in the world, suggesting that spiritual discipline carries real power and therefore must be guided by dharma and right intention.
Nārada reports that, due to the prolonged heat produced by the austerities of two Daityas, the Vindhya mountain became overheated and began to give off smoke—an extraordinary, portent-like event.
