Creation and Commissioning of Tilottamā
हिरण्मयानि शुभ्राणि बहून्याभरणानि च । वचनात् तव राजेन्द्र द्रौपद्या: सम्प्रयच्छतु,राजेन्द्र! वह आपकी आज्ञासे द्रौपदीके लिये बहुत-से सुन्दर सुवर्णमय आभूषण अर्पित करे
hiraṇmayāni śubhrāṇi bahūny ābharaṇāni ca | vacanāt tava rājendra draupadyāḥ samprayacchatu ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „O König, auf deinen Befehl hin soll er Draupadī viele herrliche goldene Schmuckstücke darbringen.“
भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma emphasizes that a ruler should use authority to uphold dignity and social propriety—here, by ordering an honorable gift to Draupadī—reflecting dharma through restitution and respectful conduct.
Bhīṣma addresses the king and instructs that, on the king’s command, many fine golden ornaments should be given to Draupadī, indicating a formal act of honoring or compensating her within the courtly setting.
