खाण्डवप्रस्थप्रवेशः तथा इन्द्रप्रस्थनिर्माणवर्णनम् | Entry into Khāṇḍavaprastha and Description of Indraprastha’s Founding

सपुत्रा हि पुरा कुन्ती दग्धा जतुगृहे श्रुता । पुनर्जातानिव च तांस्ते5मन्यन्त नराधिपा:,उन्होंने पहले सुन रखा था कि कुन्ती अपने पुत्रोंसहित लाक्षागृहमें जल गयी। अब उन्हें जीवित सुनकर वे राजालोग यह मानने लगे कि इन पाण्डवोंका फिर नया जन्म-सा हुआ है

sapuṭrā hi purā kuntī dagdhā jatugṛhe śrutā | punarjātān iva ca tāṁs te manyanta narādhipāḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Zuvor hatten sie gehört, Kuntī sei mitsamt ihren Söhnen im Lackhaus verbrannt. Nun aber, als sie vernahmen, dass sie lebten, hielten jene Könige die Pāṇḍavas für gleichsam neu geboren—als wären sie vom Tod zurückgekehrt—durch die Macht des Schicksals und den Schutz des Dharma.
