Kuntī’s Benediction to Draupadī and the Alliance Gifts (कुन्त्याः स्नुषाशीर्-वचनम् तथा दान-प्रतिग्रहः)
सायं च भीमस्तु रिपुप्रमाथी जिष्णुर्यमौ चापि महानुभावौ । भैक्ष॑ चरित्वा तु युधिष्ठिराय निवेदयाज्चक्करुरदीनसत्त्वा:,सायंकाल होनेपर शत्रुओंका मान मर्दन करनेवाले भीमसेन, अर्जुन और महानुभाव नकुल-सहदेवने भिक्षा लाकर युधिष्ठिरको निवेदन की। इन सबका अन्तःकरण उदार था
sāyaṃ ca bhīmas tu ripupramāthī jiṣṇur yamau cāpi mahānubhāvau | bhaikṣaṃ caritvā tu yudhiṣṭhirāya nivedayāṃ cakrur adīnasattvāḥ ||
Als der Abend kam, gingen Bhīma — der Zermalmer der Feinde — zusammen mit Jiṣṇu (Arjuna) und den Zwillingsbrüdern Nakula und Sahadeva, allesamt von großem Geist, aus, um Almosen zu erbitten; und sie brachten das Erlangte zu Yudhiṣṭhira und legten es ihm vor. Ihre Herzen waren großzügig und ungebrochen: selbst in Not bewahrten sie disziplinierte Demut und dienende Gesinnung.
