उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः

Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse

एतदत्यद्भुतं दृष्टवा दानवानां समुत्थित: । अमृतार्थे महान्‌ नादो ममेदमिति जल्पताम्‌,यह अत्यन्त अद्भुत दृश्य देखकर दानवोंमें अमृतके लिये कोलाहल मच गया। वे सब कहने लगे “यह मेरा है, यह मेरा है”

etad atyadbhutaṃ dṛṣṭvā dānavānāṃ samutthitaḥ | amṛtārthe mahān nādo mamedaṃ iti jalpatām ||

Śaunaka sprach: Als sie diesen überaus wunderbaren Anblick sahen, erhob sich unter den Dānavas ein gewaltiges Geschrei, getrieben vom Verlangen nach amṛta. Jeder rief besitzergreifend: „Das ist mein! Das ist mein!“
