Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse

Educational Q&A

The verse uses a vivid simile to show how repeated friction and contention can suddenly produce a consuming force that spreads beyond control, warning against unchecked agitation and conflict.

A fire, generated by mutual rubbing/collision, repeatedly flares up with flames and then envelops Mount Mandara, compared to lightning spreading across and obscuring dark-blue clouds.
