Vasiṣṭhasya śokaḥ, Vipāśā–Śatadrū-nāmākaraṇam, Kalmāṣapādasya bhaya-prasaṅgaḥ (Ādi Parva 167)

तो दृष्टवा पार्षती याजं प्रपेदे वै सुतार्थिनी । न वै मदन्यां जननीं जानीयातामिमाविति,उन दोनों पुत्र और पुत्रीको देखकर पुत्रकी इच्छा रखनेवाली राजा पृषतकी पुत्रवधू महर्षि याजकी शरणमें गयी और बोली--“भगवन्‌! आप ऐसी कृपा करें, जिससे ये दोनों बच्चे मेरे सिवा और किसीको अपनी माता न समझें

tāṃ dṛṣṭvā pārṣatī yājaṃ prapede vai sutārthinī | na vai mad-anyāṃ jananīṃ jānīyātām imāv iti ||

Als sie die beiden Kinder sah, trat die Pārṣatī — die sich nach einem Sohn sehnte — zum Weisen Yāja, suchte bei ihm Zuflucht und flehte: „Ehrwürdiger, erweise Gnade, dass diese beiden keine andere Mutter erkennen als mich.“
