Vasiṣṭhasya śokaḥ, Vipāśā–Śatadrū-nāmākaraṇam, Kalmāṣapādasya bhaya-prasaṅgaḥ (Ādi Parva 167)

क्षत्रोच्छेदाय विहितो जामदग्न्य इवास्थित: । तस्य हा[स्त्रबलं घोरमप्रधृष्यं नरैर्भुवि,“मानो जमदग्निनन्दन परशुरामजीकी भाँति क्षत्रियोंका संहार करनेके लिये उनकी सृष्टि हुई है। उनका अस्त्रबल बड़ा भयंकर है। पृथ्वीके सब मनुष्य मिलकर भी उसे दबा नहीं सकते

kṣatrocchedāya vihito jāmadagnya ivāsthitaḥ | tasya hāstrabalaṃ ghoraṃ apradhṛṣyaṃ narair bhuvi ||

Der Brahmane sprach: „Er ist zur Ausrottung der Kshatriyas bestimmt, hervorgetreten wie Jāmadagnya (Paraśurāma). Seine Waffenmacht ist schrecklich—auf dieser Erde vermögen Menschen ihn nicht zu bezwingen.“
