तमद्रिकूटसदृशं विनिकीर्ण भयानकम् | दृष्टवा संहृष्टरोमाणो बभूवुस्तत्र नागरा:,पर्ववशिखरके समान भयानक उस राक्षसको नगरके दरवाजेपर फेंका हुआ देखकर नगरनिवासी मनुष्योंके शरीरमें रोमांच हो आया
tam adrikūṭasadṛśaṁ vinikīrṇa-bhayānakam | dṛṣṭvā saṁhṛṣṭaromāṇo babhūvus tatra nāgarāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Als sie jenes furchterregende Wesen sahen—riesig wie ein Berggipfel—hingeworfen und vor dem Stadttor liegend, überlief die Bürger ein Schauder; vor dem grausigen Anblick erbebten sie vor Angst.
