ब्राह्मण उवाच
As a colophon, the line itself teaches no new doctrine; it signals that the chapter belongs to the Baka-vadha narrative and frames the ethical mood as the brāhmaṇa’s anxious deliberation—highlighting dharmic concern for family and community under threat.
This is the closing marker of the chapter: it locates the episode within Ādi Parva, in the section about Baka’s slaying, specifically during the brāhmaṇa’s troubled reflection—setting or concluding the context in which the household confronts the rākṣasa’s demand and the moral crisis it creates.
