रोरूयमाणांस्तान् दृष्टवा परिदेवयतश्न सा । कारुण्यात् साधुभावाच्च कुन्ती राजन् न चक्षमे,राजन! उन ब्राह्मण-परिवारके लोगोंको बहुत रोते और विलाप करते देख कुन्तीदेवी अत्यन्त दयालुता तथा साधु-स्वभावके कारण सहन न कर सकीं
rorūyamāṇāṁs tān dṛṣṭvā paridevayataś ca sā | kāruṇyāt sādhubhāvāc ca kuntī rājan na cakṣame ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Als Kuntī jene Menschen klagen und wehschreien sah, konnte sie es — von Mitgefühl bewegt und von sanfter, tugendhafter Gesinnung — nicht ertragen, o König.
