कुन्ती-युधिष्ठिर-संवादः — Kuntī’s Counsel on Departing for Pāñcāla
वैशम्पायन उवाच एवमुकक््त्वा निवेश्यैनान् ब्राह्मणस्यथ निवेशने । अब्रवीत् पाण्डवश्रेष्ठमृषिद्वपायनस्तदा,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! यों कहकर महर्षि द्वैपायनने इन सबको एक ब्राह्मणके घरमें ठहरा दिया और पाण्डवश्रेष्ठ युधिष्ठिससे कहा--
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: evam uktvā niveśyainān brāhmaṇasyātha niveśane | abravīt pāṇḍavaśreṣṭham ṛṣir Dvaipāyanas tadā ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Nachdem er so geredet hatte, brachte der Weise Dvaipāyana sie in der Behausung eines Brāhmaṇa unter. Danach wandte er sich an Yudhiṣṭhira, den Vornehmsten der Pāṇḍavas.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores dharmic conduct through proper hospitality and safeguarding of those under one’s care: the sage ensures respectable lodging and then offers guidance to the rightful leader, indicating that protection, order, and counsel from the wise are integral to righteous living.
After speaking earlier instructions, the sage Dvaipāyana (Vyāsa) arranges accommodation for the group in a brāhmaṇa’s house. Once they are settled, he turns to the foremost Pāṇḍava, Yudhiṣṭhira, and begins to speak to him, marking a transition to direct counsel.
