Kuntī–Yudhiṣṭhira Dialogue on Bhīma’s Mission

The verse highlights how desire (kāma) divorced from dharma becomes morally perverse: rejoicing in the destruction of one’s own relatives is presented as the ‘fulfillment’ of a wish, implicitly condemning such intent as adharma and exposing the ethical blindness produced by ambition and hostility.
In the context of the lac-house (lakṣagṛha) plot, a message is proposed to be sent to Dhṛtarāṣṭra stating—ironically and accusatorily—that his ‘greatest desire’ has been achieved because the Pāṇḍavas have supposedly been burned. The statement reflects the belief (or feigned report) that the plot succeeded.
