The daughter’s lament on lineage and protection
इदं शरणमाग्नेयं मदर्थमिति मे मति: । पुरोचनेन विहितं धार्तराष्ट्स्य शासनात्,“यह घर आग भड़कानेवाले पदार्थोंसे बना है। हमारा विश्वास है कि दुर्योधनके आदेशसे पुरोचनने हमारे लिये ही इसे बनवाया है
idam śaraṇam āgneyam madartham iti me matiḥ | purocanena vihitaṃ dhārtarāṣṭrasya śāsanāt |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Meinem Urteil nach ist diese Zuflucht aus leicht entflammbaren Stoffen errichtet, auf unsere Vernichtung berechnet. Ich glaube, Purocana hat sie eigens für uns gebaut, auf Befehl des Sohnes Dhṛtarāṣṭras (Duryodhana).“
