तद्वाक्यसमकाल तु बीभत्सुर्निशितै: शरै: । अवार्य: पज्चभिग्रहं मग्नमम्भस्यताडयत्,उनके इस आदेशके साथ ही बीभत्सु (अर्जुन)-ने पाँच अमोघ एवं तीखे बाणोंद्वारा पानीमें डूबे हुए उस ग्राहपर प्रहार किया
tadvākyasamākāla tu bībhatsur niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ | avāryaḥ pañcabhir grahaṃ magnam ambhasy atāḍayat ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: In dem Augenblick, da diese Worte gesprochen waren, traf Bībhatsu (Arjuna) das unter Wasser gesunkene Krokodil mit fünf unfehlbaren, messerscharfen Pfeilen—rasch handelnd, um Leben zu schützen und die rechte Pflicht angesichts plötzlicher Gefahr zu wahren.
