Vāraṇāvata-prasaṃsā and the Pāṇḍavas’ Departure

Educational Q&A

Friendship is fragile when eroded by time and anger; one should not blindly rely on a bond that has already weakened, and should consciously let go of sentimental claims of past friendship when circumstances have decisively changed.

In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a speaker advises another person to abandon reliance on a deteriorated friendship, emphasizing that time and anger naturally dissolve such bonds and urging a clear, unsentimental break from the former relationship.
