Kuntī’s Invocations and the Birth-Portents of the Pāṇḍavas
The verse highlights dharmic kingship: wealth is not merely for personal enjoyment but for honoring worthy persons and sustaining bonds of loyalty and friendship. Pāṇḍu’s generosity toward Vidura and other well-wishers models gratitude, fairness, and responsible distribution.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Pāṇḍu sends a portion of the wealth to Vidura and also uses that wealth to gratify other friends and supporters, indicating his conscientious care for his circle of allies and dependents.
