Pāṇḍu’s Gifts, Forest Residence, and Vidura’s Marriage
नाम चास्यैतदेवेह भविष्यति शुभानने । इत्युक्त्वा स निरक्रामद् भगवानृषिसत्तम:,'शुभानने! इस बालकका नाम भी संसारमें 'पाण्ड” ही होगा।” ऐसा कहकर मुनिश्रेष्ठ भगवान् व्यास वहाँसे निकल गये
nāma cāsyaitad eveha bhaviṣyati śubhānane | ity uktvā sa nirakrāmad bhagavān ṛṣisattamaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O du Schönangesichtige, der Name dieses Kindes wird in dieser Welt wahrlich ‘Pāṇḍu’ sein.“ Nachdem er so gesprochen hatte, ging der gesegnete Vyāsa—der Vortrefflichste unter den Weisen—von dort fort.
