एवं तेषामहं सम्यक् शप्तानां राजसत्तम | मोक्षार्थ मानुषाल्लोकादू यथावत् कृतवत्यहम्,राजशिरोमणे! इस प्रकार उन शापग्रस्त वसुओंको इस मनुष्यलोकसे मुक्त करनेके लिये मैंने यथावत् प्रयत्न किया है
evaṁ teṣām ahaṁ samyak śaptānāṁ rājasattama | mokṣārthaṁ mānuṣāl lokād yathāvat kṛtavaty aham, rājaśiromaṇe |
Vaiśaṁpāyana sprach: „O bester der Könige, o Kronjuwel unter den Herrschern! Ich habe pflichtgemäß und mit aller Gewissenhaftigkeit getan, was erforderlich war, um jenen verfluchten Vasus die Erlösung zu erwirken, damit sie aus der Menschenwelt befreit würden.“
