ततः सम्प्रेक्ष्य मदनं हसन् देवस् त्रियंबकः नयनेन तृतीयेन सावज्ञं तम् अवैक्षत
tataḥ samprekṣya madanaṃ hasan devas triyaṃbakaḥ nayanena tṛtīyena sāvajñaṃ tam avaikṣata
Dann, als Triyambaka, der dreiaugige Gott, Madana (Kāma) erblickte, lächelte er und fixierte ihn mit dem dritten Auge in verächtlichem Blick; als verkünde er, dass Pati, der Herr, vom kāma, das den paśu (die Seele) bindet, unberührt bleibt.
