Śrāddha-vidhi for Pitṛs: Invitations, Purity, Offerings, and Conduct

शुचिरक्रोधनः शान्तः सत्यवादी समाहितः / स्वाध्यायं च तथाध्वानं कर्ता भोक्ता च वर्जयेत्

śucirakrodhanaḥ śāntaḥ satyavādī samāhitaḥ / svādhyāyaṃ ca tathādhvānaṃ kartā bhoktā ca varjayet

Man soll rein sein, frei von Zorn, friedvoll, wahrhaftig und innerlich gesammelt. Man soll svādhyāya (heiliges Selbststudium) und dhyāna (Meditation) pflegen und die Vorstellungen aufgeben: „Ich bin der Handelnde“ und „Ich bin der Genießende“.
