Śrāddha-Kāla-Nirṇaya: Proper Times, Nakṣatra Fruits, Tīrtha Merit, and Offerings for Ancestral Rites

दशमासांस्तु तृप्यन्ति वराहमहिषामिषैः / शशकूर्मर्योर्मांसेन मासानेकादशैव तु

daśamāsāṃstu tṛpyanti varāhamahiṣāmiṣaiḥ / śaśakūrmaryormāṃsena māsānekādaśaiva tu

Durch das Fleisch von Eber und Büffel werden die Pitṛs (Ahnen) für zehn Monate zufrieden; doch durch das Fleisch von Hase und Schildkröte werden sie wahrlich für elf Monate zufrieden.
