The Viṣṇudūtas who had rescued Ajāmila came before him again when his mind was firmly fixed upon the form of the Lord. The Viṣṇudūtas had gone away for some time to give Ajāmila a chance to become firmly fixed in meditation upon the Lord. Now that his devotion had matured, they returned to take him. Understanding that the same Viṣṇudūtas had returned, Ajāmila offered them his obeisances by bowing down before them.
This verse shows that when Ajāmila’s mind became composed and receptive, he directly saw the Viṣṇudūtas before him and recognized them as the same divine messengers who had protected him earlier.
Because he recognized them as the divine persons who had intervened on his behalf before; in gratitude and reverence, he offered obeisances with his head.
Cultivate inner steadiness through sincere remembrance of God and devotional practice; a calmer mind helps one recognize divine guidance and respond with humility and gratitude.
