It prescribes beginning the vow in the bright fortnight of Mārgaśīrṣa, with the husband’s permission, after hearing the Maruts’ birth narrative and taking brāhmaṇas’ consent, then bathing, dressing in white, and worshiping Bhagavān along with Śrī (Lakṣmī) before the morning meal.
Because the Lord is worshiped as the source of all auspiciousness and prosperity, and Śrī (Lakṣmī) is His eternal divine energy; honoring them together reflects complete, dharmic devotion seeking spiritual and worldly well-being in a sanctified way.
Begin spiritual disciplines with purity, proper guidance (elders/teachers), and family harmony; keep a clean morning routine, practice mindful worship before consumption, and center desires around dharma by offering prayer to the Lord with gratitude.
