Diti’s Puṁsavana Vow, Indra’s Intervention, and the Birth of the Maruts
In this verse, Kaśyapa tells Diti to choose a boon because he is pleased by her conduct—showing that sincere service and disciplined vows can result in blessings from a qualified authority.
Diti had carefully followed a vow to please her husband; seeing her dedication, Kaśyapa became satisfied and invited her to ask for a boon, indicating the narrative’s focus on responsibility and outcomes within household dharma.
It highlights the value of integrity, self-discipline, and nurturing trust in relationships—when duties are performed sincerely, harmony and support naturally arise.
