Citraketu’s Detachment, Nārada’s Mantra, and the Darśana of Anantadeva
श्रीशुक उवाच संस्तुतो भगवानेवमनन्तस्तमभाषत । विद्याधरपतिं प्रीतश्चित्रकेतुं कुरूद्वह ॥ ४९ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca saṁstuto bhagavān evam anantas tam abhāṣata vidyādhara-patiṁ prītaś citraketuṁ kurūdvaha
Śukadeva Gosvāmī fuhr fort: Vom Lobpreis Citraketus, des Königs der Vidyādharas, sehr erfreut, antwortete der Herr Anantadeva, die Höchste Persönlichkeit Gottes, wie folgt, o Parīkṣit, Bester der Kuru-Dynastie.
In this verse, after being properly praised, Lord Ananta directly speaks to Citraketu, showing that the Lord reciprocates with heartfelt devotion and sincere glorification.
Because Citraketu had offered praise and devotion; the narrative emphasizes the Lord’s merciful reciprocation—He becomes pleased and personally instructs His devotee.
Offer sincere prayers and glorification with humility; this verse highlights that devotion is meant to become a living relationship—seeking guidance and transformation through genuine bhakti.
