Purūravā’s Song of Renunciation and the Glory of Sādhu-saṅga
This verse explains that the mind is agitated by the contact of the senses with sense objects; therefore one seeking the highest goal should avoid intimate association that fuels such agitation.
In His final teachings to Uddhava, Krishna emphasizes detachment: certain associations intensify sense-object contact and thus disturb the mind, making steady devotion and realization difficult.
Choose uplifting company, set boundaries with media and environments that inflame the senses, and redirect the mind through bhakti practices like chanting and hearing—reducing the triggers of agitation.
