Mucukunda’s Departure; Jarāsandha’s Pursuit; Prelude to Rukmiṇī’s Abduction
Rukmiṇī’s Message Begins
The topic of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s marriage to Rukmiṇī will now be discussed. By way of introduction, a brief mention is made of His brother Baladeva’s marriage. This marriage was alluded to in the Ninth Canto of the Bhāgavatam , Third Chapter, texts 33-36.
This verse states that King Raivata of Ānarta, on Lord Brahmā’s instruction, gave his daughter Raivatī in marriage to Lord Balarāma, fulfilling what had been mentioned earlier.
He did so because Lord Brahmā urged him—showing that the marriage was part of a divine arrangement rather than merely a political or social decision.
It highlights honoring wise guidance and recognizing that major life events can be guided by higher principles—encouraging humility, dharmic decision-making, and trust in divine arrangement.
