Concept: Bhūta-nyāsa: harmonizing space by assigning the pañca-bhūtas in a rule-governed sequence; number-operators (7/8, saptārciṣ/vasu) serve as ritualized computational mnemonics.

Application: In site/yantra work, do not place elements arbitrarily—follow the prescribed sequence and computed markers to standardize consecration and spatial harmony.

Khanda Section: Vāstu-Śāstra / Yantra-Nirmāṇa (Ritual diagrams, elemental placement, consecratory procedure)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

FAQs

It gives a procedural step in maṇḍala/yantra or ritual-layout work: mark a measured point/heap (kararāśi), stabilize the designated portion with the Vasus’ invocation, and then assign the elemental sequence starting from Earth.

It illustrates the Purana’s practical, manual-technical side—codifying precise steps for sacred geometry/ritual layout and elemental mapping, alongside its theology and mythic material.

Correct measurement, marking, and elemental placement—performed under Agni’s ritual agency and the Vasus’ stabilizing powers—aims to purify the rite and ensure auspicious, ordered manifestation in the sacred space.
