Chapter 59 — अधिवासनकथनं
Adhivāsana: The Rite of Inviting and Stabilizing Hari’s Presence
Lord Agni (teaching to Sage Vasiṣṭha in the Agni Purana’s instructional dialogue)
Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Philosophy","practical_application":"Pranava-based meditation: use Oṃ to yoke the mind, withdraw individualized ‘I’-identification into cit-śakti, and abide in ātmaikatva (non-dual self-abidance) as the all-pervading Lord.","sutra_style":true}
Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Oṃkāra-yoga for Ātmaikatva (self-oneness)","lookup_keywords":["oṃkāra","pranava-dhyāna","cit-śakti","abhimāna","ātmaikatva"],"quick_summary":"Meditate with Oṃ as the integrating support, retract egoic identification into consciousness-power, and establish non-dual self-oneness as the all-pervading sovereign Self."}
Concept: Dissolution of individual abhimāna into cit-śakti culminating in ātmaikatva; the Self recognized as all-pervading (sarvagata) and sovereign (vibhu).
Application: Daily pranava meditation: begin with Oṃ, observe ‘I’-sense, let it subside into awareness itself, rest as witnessing presence without re-grasping identity.
Khanda Section: Yoga–Vedanta / Tantra (Pranava-dhyana and Atmaikatva practice)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A meditator seated in steady posture, a subtle Oṃ symbol as the focal support; the ‘I’-sense dissolving into a luminous field of consciousness representing the all-pervading vibhu.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, yogin in padmāsana, bold Oṃ glyph above heart, concentric aura expanding to fill the frame, minimal temple interior cues, serene palette.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting, central Oṃ rendered with gold leaf, yogin with calm face, radiant gold aura signifying vibhu, ornate border but uncluttered center.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore style, didactic clarity: yogin, Oṃ at brow/heart, subtle lines showing inward withdrawal, soft gradients indicating absorption into self-luminosity.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, quiet study-garden pavilion, yogin seated on carpet, translucent cloud-like aura with calligraphic Oṃ, fine detailing on textiles and plants."}

Praṇava-yoga: using Oṃ as the meditative support to withdraw awareness from external identifications and establish ātmaikatva (non-dual Self-oneness).
Alongside ritual, polity, medicine, and arts, the Agni Purana also preserves concise yogic/vedāntic techniques—here, a practical method of Oṃ-based absorption—showing its coverage of both outer rites and inner liberation disciplines.
By dissolving ego-based identification into the all-pervading Self through Oṃ-meditation, one purifies the mind and advances toward mokṣa (release), reducing bondage-producing karmic tendencies.
