Ayurvedic garbha-vidyā guidance: specific foods (dates, coconut, salty/watery items; also viḍaṅga, fish, meat) are prescribed to safely satisfy dauhṛda (pregnancy cravings) and support nourishment.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a compendium beyond myth—preserving practical Ayurveda (materia medica and dietetics) alongside ritual, dharma, and other sciences.
By endorsing auspicious fulfillment of dauhṛda through suitable foods, it implies a dharmic duty of care for mother and fetus—supporting well-being and avoiding harm that could arise from neglecting legitimate needs.
