सरस्वतीति वै लोके वर्तते नाम सांप्रतम् । अतीतं नाम यत्तस्याः कमंडलुभवेति च । रत्नाकरेति सामुद्रं सत्यं नामांतरं पुरा
sarasvatīti vai loke vartate nāma sāṃpratam | atītaṃ nāma yattasyāḥ kamaṃḍalubhaveti ca | ratnākareti sāmudraṃ satyaṃ nāmāṃtaraṃ purā
বর্তমানে লোকসমাজে তিনি ‘সরস্বতী’ নামে পরিচিতা। তাঁর পূর্ব নাম ছিল ‘কমণ্ডলুভবা’, আর প্রাচীন কালে সমুদ্র-সম্পর্কিত তাঁর সত্য নামান্তর ছিল ‘রত্নাকর’।
