īśvara uvāca | śṛṇu devi yathā jātā tasminkṣetre sarasvatī | yataścaiva samudbhūtā sarvapāpapraṇāśinī
Īśvara (Śiva)
Tirtha: Sarasvatī at Prabhāsa
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Śiva begins the authoritative narration: ‘Listen, Devī…’ with Sarasvatī envisioned as a radiant river-goddess whose waters wash away darkness and sin in the Prabhāsa landscape.
Sacred rivers and kṣetras are portrayed as instruments of purification; hearing their origin with faith is part of tīrtha-dharma.
Prabhāsa Kṣetra, where Sarasvatī is being described as manifesting.
No direct prescription here; it is an invitation to śravaṇa (devotional listening) of the tīrtha’s greatness.
