ईश्वर उवाच । ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि यत्र जांबवती नदी । पुरा जांबवतीनाम विष्णोर्या महिषीप्रिया । अपृच्छदर्जुनं साध्वी वद वार्तां कुरू द्वह
īśvara uvāca | tato gacchenmahādevi yatra jāṃbavatī nadī | purā jāṃbavatīnāma viṣṇoryā mahiṣīpriyā | apṛcchadarjunaṃ sādhvī vada vārtāṃ kurū dvaha
ঈশ্বর বললেন—হে মহাদেবী, তারপর যেখানে জাঁববতী নদী প্রবাহিত, সেখানে গমন করা উচিত। প্রাচীনকালে বিষ্ণুর প্রিয় মহিষী, সাধ্বী জাঁববতী অর্জুনকে জিজ্ঞাসা করেছিল—‘সংবাদ বলো; সত্য বলো, কিছুই গোপন কোরো না।’
