Transliteration

yatrādhikṛtya śakunīndharmādharmavicāraṇam | purāṇaṃ navasāhasraṃ mārkaṇḍeyaṃ taducyate

Translation

যে পুরাণ পাখিদের অবলম্বন করে ধর্ম ও অধর্মের বিচার করে, সেই নয় সহস্র শ্লোকসম্বলিত ‘মার্কণ্ডেয়’ নামে পরিচিত।
