ईश्वर उवाच । किं ते देवि महाशंकाद्योत्पन्ना वरवर्णिनि । ममोपरि न कर्त्तव्या निरुद्विग्ना भव प्रिये । पितुस्तव प्रभावेन लांछनं शशिनोऽभवत्
īśvara uvāca | kiṃ te devi mahāśaṃkādyotpannā varavarṇini | mamopari na karttavyā nirudvignā bhava priye | pitustava prabhāvena lāṃchanaṃ śaśino'bhavat
ঈশ্বর বললেন—হে দেবি, বরবর্ণিনী! তোমার মনে এই মহাশঙ্কা কেন জাগল? আমার প্রতি এমন সন্দেহ কোরো না; প্রিয়ে, নিরুদ্বিগ্ন হও। তোমার পিতার প্রভাবে চন্দ্রের উপর এই কলঙ্ক জন্মেছে।
