तस्मिन्मृता महाराज निष्कामाः कामतोऽपि वा । ते यान्ति शिवसायुज्यं जरा मरणवर्जितम्
tasminmṛtā mahārāja niṣkāmāḥ kāmato'pi vā | te yānti śivasāyujyaṃ jarā maraṇavarjitam
হে মহারাজ, সেখানে যারা মৃত্যুবরণ করে—নিষ্কাম হোক বা কামযুক্তও—তারা শিব-সায়ুজ্য লাভ করে, যা জরা ও মৃত্যুমুক্ত।
Sūta (deduced: Purāṇic narration within Prabhāsa Khaṇḍa)
Tirtha: Arbuda-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahārāja (king)
Scene: A solemn yet luminous scene: a devotee’s last moments within Arbuda’s sacred precinct; Śiva’s compassionate presence (or a radiant liṅga) appears, drawing the departing jīva upward into a calm, deathless union, while the mountain shrine and tīrtha waters glow.
A supremely sanctified tirtha can grant Śiva-union; the place’s grace can transcend the visitor’s inner state of desire.
The sacred locale praised in the Arbuda Khaṇḍa Māhātmya (Arbuda region/tirtha context) within the Prabhāsa Khaṇḍa.
No ritual is prescribed in this verse; it states the salvific fruit associated with dying in that holy place.
