Sūta
Type: kshetra
Listener: Pilgrimage audience
Scene: A dramatic birth tableau: infant Garuḍa emerging with blazing aura, wings hinted, radiance filling the hermitage; serpents in the periphery recoil in fear; Kaśyapa stands in awe.
Sanctified dharma produces protectors—divine power arises to restrain fear and harm (symbolized by serpents).
The Suparṇa-associated tīrtha is celebrated through the narrative of Garuḍa’s origin and protective capacity.
Consumption of ritually empowered water (jalapāna) as the causal act leading to Garuḍa’s manifestation.
